An incredibly powerful way to turn kids into financially responsible adults.
This Incredibly Easy-to-Use
Allowance
System Will Turn YOUR Child into a Money Savvy Adult
Faster Than You Can Imagine!
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Are you looking for a way to...
Make sure you kids leave school ready to handle their own finances?
Empower your children with a proud sense of responsibility as an adult?
Stop arguing with your kids about money and instead, help them learn how to be the CEO of their own lives at a very young age?
Great...you're in the right place!
My name is Elisabeth Donati and I started teaching kids and teens about money and investing in 2002. Why? Because no one every taught me!
If you're like most parents, you want the best for your children and you want to make sure they'll be able to take care of themselves as adults. But since most parenting books leave out the part about teaching children about money (and I read a lot of them when my son was born), how are we supposed to know what to do?
Looking for the answer to that question is probably how you stumbled onto this web page. And I'm so glad you did.
I want you to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that there's an easy way to teach your kids the value of money, how to manage it wisely, why and how to start investing early...all while saving yourself hundreds of dollars in the process.
In a nutshell, this easy-the-use system is a completely different type of kid's allowance that involves taking the money you're already spending ON your children and running it THROUGH them instead. And yes, your kids will love the system, too!
The last parent who bought The Ultimate Allowance sent me this email (and signed up for our Camp Millionaire Train-the-Trainer program so she could teach the principles in the book to kids in her own community).
"I couldn't stop reading The Ultimate Allowance! The information in your book is absolutely priceless!" ~ Jamille Hamlet
If you've ever wanted to teach your kids about money with the satisfaction of knowing you've done everything you could to raise adults who thrive financially, then this may be the most important web page you will ever read.
Until my son was 15 years old, I was a typical mom looking for a way to teach him about money. Since I didn't get one as a child, I thought it was good idea, but there were too many 'experts' and I just had no idea who to believe or trust.
I was so confused. I'd stand at the window and watch my son playing outside, knowing that if I didn't teach him about money when he was young, he'd end up like me at 35 when I realized that no one had taught me!
I was so confused about allowances. But not anymore...
I never did make up my mind about allowances while my son was young. His dad decided to give him money each week to spend and gave him money for good grades...both reasons that bothered me and that are covered in my book. I wish I'd known then what I know now because I would have done things differently. Luckily, he is doing really well financially and I attribute that to talking to him about money all of the time and having him listen to an audio program from the Rich Dad Company called Choose To Be Rich when he was 15 (road trips are great are great for this).
By the time I was 40 years old, I had taught myself about money and in the process of creating a unique and powerful financial literacy summer camp and financial education program for schools called Camp Millionaire. This program uses experiential activities and games and The Money Game real-life money event to teach children from ages 10 to 18 about money.
Why I Wrote A Book About Kids And Allowances
Every summer during our camp, parents would ask what I thought about allowances. I knew that in order to be great with money, kids had to practise with money and that was going to take giving them an allowance. I knew there had to be an answer that made sense, and a system that anyone could use.
There were as many opinions as there were experts saying to do it 'this' way or 'that' way, yet there was always something missing in their systems. They didn't make sense. They were expensive to do. They didn't empower children with the critical financial information, skills and habits I knew all kids needed to be financially successful in life. I kept searching...
Fortunately, I Kept Looking For The Answer
One day I stopped to pondered everything I'd read, everything I'd heard, everything I'd considered about allowances. Then it hit me! I realized that I had found the answer several years ago...I just hadn't realized how it applied to allowances.
When I remembered this incident with my son, the whole topic became crystal clear. I combined this one key with two more and designed...
A simple, yet powerful allowance method that literally transforms children from financial dependency to financial independency in a few short weeks.
A system that saves you 10-25% of what you normally spend raising your child from 0-18.
An allowance method that systematically empowers your children with the skills and tools they need to grow into financially responsible adults.
The Event That Led to The Ultimate Allowance System
When my son, Andrew, was 14 years old, I had given up trying to figure out what he wanted for Christmas. I decided that since he liked clothes, I'd give him a $100 shopping trip so he could buy what he wanted.
That particular Christmas we were at the mall and he couldn't decide what he wanted. I was tired and frustrated and finally handed him a $100 bill. I said, "Here. Buy whatever you want. I'm going to find a nice bench to wait for you."
He put the $100 bill in his wallet and said, "Oh, then let's just go home. I don't really want anything anyway."
I was dumbfounded AND had just learned that kids would rather spend OUR money than THEIR money.
And herein lies one of the secrets to the Ultimate Allowance...you're going to put THEM in charge of their own financial needs as soon as they're ready so that, by the time they leave school, they are 100% responsible for themselves.
Our Schools are Not Teaching Our Children Financial Skills,
SO IT'S UP TO YOU TO TEACH YOUR KIDS ABOUT MONEY.
Most of the parents I talk to feel that financial education should be taught in school.
But the fact is...for the most part...our children are NOT learning about money and personal finance in school and even though financial literacy is a very hot topic these days, it's still an elective in all but eight states.
Worse yet, did you know that...
More college students drop out of college because of financial reasons than because of academic reasons?
Some college age students have committed suicide because they can't handle the debt that they got themselves into?
62% expect of college graduates will have a student loan debt averaging $27,236 (Student Monitor)
40% will never gain a net worth in excess of $10,000 (American Dream Education Campaign)
In most cases, economics and personal financial literacy programs are elective classes so “only 12% of Americans graduate from high school having learned anything about money at all.” (FoxNews.com)
Less than 1/4 of students and only 20% of parents say students are very well prepared to deal with the financial challenges that await them after graduation. (KeyBank)
57% of college graduates plan to move back with their parents. (MonsterTrak.com)
Research shows that individuals who have taken a personal finance education course have a higher savings rate, higher net worth and make larger contributions to their 401ks. (The Department of the Treasury)
Studies show that it takes less than 10 hours of financial literacy education to influence a child's financial choices and decisions as adults.
Many parents find The Ultimate Allowance because they have trouble talking to their kids about money. Some parents say they'd rather talk to their kids about sex or drugs than money. This system makes it easy to do talk to your kids about money. I even give you the actual words to use when introducing this system to your kids.
Other parents find The Ultimate Allowance because they are of their kids begging them for money all of the time. With The Ultimate Allowance, there's no reason for them to ask. And if they DO ask, you will have the words to use to get them to take responsibility for their choices.
You are not alone in your search for the best way to teach your children about money. Parents everywhere are looking for an effective way to teach their kids how money works. Here is the testimonial from Amanda who sent me the video above. She is as passionate about teaching kids about money as I am.
Amanda van der Gulik
“Until I read Elisabeth’s book I was completely AGAINST giving an allowance to kids as a way for teaching them about money, but since reading her incredibly easy-to-understand and implement ‘The Ultimate Allowance’ book, I have opened my mind to how powerful the right kind of allowance can be. The thing I like most about Elisabeth’s method is that she shows how easy it can be to have the expenses that we spend on our children anyway, go THROUGH our children. They now get the responsibility of paying for their own expenses, which opens their eyes to what exactly it costs to raise them. I think this in itself is priceless, not to mention all of the other extraordinary tips, tools and advice she so freely gives to us in her book. Thanks Miss E for opening my mind to the possibilities!”
The Ultimate Allowance Helps You Prepare
Your Children For A Life of Financial Security and Freedom
The Ultimate Allowance is a unique and creative financial literacy tool that any parent can use with their kids. As long as you're spending money ON your kids, you can empower them using my system.
I realize that you may not think you have the tools to teach your kids about money.
I know that sometimes it's hard to talk to your kids about money.
I understand you weren't given a magic wand to empower your kids financially.
Dave Westwood
"Reading "The Ultimate Allowance" has allowed me to put a game plan in place for my son Joshua. He is only 3 years old right now, so we haven't really utilized the book together yet. However, it has inspired me to teach him some basics about money. In addition, I have already started to track what I spend on him so that implementing the plan in a few years, will be so much easier! What I like about this book so much is that it is knowledge that kids will use not only during their childhood years, but for the rest of their adult lives as well.
It is the rare person that can combine their work with the power to change other people's lives; thank you so much for doing what you do!"

There are Three Essential Keys to Raising Money-savvy Adults
In the six years I have been delivering financial programs for kids, teens and adults, I have talked to hundreds of parents. Every parent asks..."How do I convince them that money doesn't grow on trees?"
After asking lots of questions and listening to the answers, I noticed three things that parents were doing (or not doing as the case may be) that kept them from the creating financially responsible children who managed their money and didn't continually beg for more.
The Three Biggest Financial Mistakes
Parents Make with Their Kids
FIRST: Many parents set a poor example. Though most don't do it intentionally, they just don't know how to save and invest wisely themselves. And adults, we come by this naturally. Our biggest role model, the government, is always in debt and spends more than it makes.
SECOND: Many parents don't talk to their kids about money. They keep the family finances — saving, investing, debt, budgeting — a secret from their children so they have no idea about it. Kids learn about their parents financial situations through what they see, hear and experience as they grow up. We need to talk to our kids about money from an early age. This is how we will begin to break the 'taboo' that money has in most cultures.
THIRD: Many parents don't provide their kids enough opportunity to practice with money. If we want them to be good with money, they have to use it on a regular basis.
These three common financial mistakes lead to...
The Three Simple Keys to Raising Money-Savvy Adults
FIRST: Set the best example you can. Remember that your children are watching, listening and experiencing everything you do, say and feel about money.
SECOND: Talk to your kids about money. Involve them in the family finances — saving, investing, debt, budgeting, etc.— Let them know that this is an essential part of life and it's best to learn it young.
THIRD: Give your children every opportunity you can to practice with money in a way that's relevant, mindful, educational and lesson-packed.
Are you looking for a system to teach your kids about
money that works?
Are you frustrated trying to get your kids to understand the "value
of a buck"?
Would you them to stop asking you for
money all the time and be 100% responsible for their own financial matters by the time they move out on their own?
If you answered Yes...The Ultimate Allowance is perfect for you.
"Wow, I loved your book. This simple system can make any kid a financial success (and don't tell anyone, but I learned a lot too!" Dawn H.
The Ultimate Allowance System gives you all of the tools you need to make sure your kids move out and stay out when they're ready....except for visits, of course!
As a whole, our nation's children are not learning about money. There are a lot of teachers, parents, seminar leaders and others trying to fill in the pieces but no one can teach your kids like YOU can because no one cares like YOU care!
And if you're like me, you WANT to make sure your kids grow up and get to live a great life; whatever they want their lives to look like. And great lives usually take a substantial sum of money and income these days.
Why I Am So Passionate About Teaching Kids About Money
When I was 35ish, I realized
I didn't know much about money. When I was 31, I married a wonderful man who earned a good living. I was a personal trainer and fitness instructor and I loved helping people improve their
health. I loved making a difference in people's lives.
But I didn't understand the money thing...until
one day when my husband and I had paid off
thousands of dollars of debt and had we had the following conversation:
ME, "What do we do with this extra
money now?"
HIM, "I don't know. What do you think we should do with
it?"
ME, "I don't know, you're the man, you're supposed
to know what to do with it?"
HIM, "I don't have a clue (and he was 48 at the time)."
We both said, "What are we going to do now? Who do we call?"
I called my mom and asked her why she hadn't
taught me about money. She said, in an apologetic voice, "How could I teach you something I
didn't know?"
All of a sudden it made sense. And you know that
saying, when the student is ready the teacher appears? Well,
his name was Robert Kiyosaki and the book was Rich Dad
Poor Dad.
Reading Robert's book was just ONE of the many financial ah-has I have had since then. That book
changed my life; actually it changed how I SAW the money in my life.
Wealth Principles Your Kids Will Learn Naturally
If you want your children to grow up financially free,
you have to teach them to use their money wisely, invest
it so that it grows and create passive income streams so
they can work because they want to and not because they
have to...all while hopefully teaching them that doing good in the
world is an awesome thing!
I never had a chance to learn these things...until
someone put Robert's book in my hands.
Have you ever said to yourself, "Why didn't someone teach me this stuff
when I was young?" Even though I asked myself this question, I never felt stupid; I simply realized I wasn't taught about money.
I was upset at first. I had been
a straight A student in high school and college, but the fact was,
going to school, getting good grades, going to college and
getting a 'good' secure job just isn't enough...especially now!
In 2002, I created The Money Camp for Kids, a
FUN and unique financial summer camp that taught kids and teens everything I wished I had learned when I was young. The camps, now called Camp
Millionaire, are being taught around the US and Internationally.
Just some of the things your children will learn by using The Ultimate Allowance:
How to "pay yourself first" so that when they start making money as an adult, this habit will already be natural and second nature.
How to allocate their money so that it has more than one job. Using The Money Jar system, they'll learn to divide their money into 6 jars: living, freedom (to buy assets), savings, education, play and donation.
They'll learn that making great buying decisions leaves them extra money to use later or to save and poor buying decisions can be a little painful.
They'll learn to pay attention to their dollars because when they're out of money...they're out of money.
They'll understand how important it is plan and develop habits with their money (so they'll always have money for the things they want and need in life).
Necessity is the Mother of Invention!
Our children need to learn to 'think' about money in a whole new way. The economy is changing. People are losing what they thought were good, secure jobs. Things are getting more expensive.
Our kids aren't going to be able to count on those 'good, secure jobs that many adults count on. They will need to learn to make a living, and a life, in a whole new way. In order for them to do this, we must...
Teach our kids to grow up and be the CEO of their own lives.
Teach our kids how to start their own businesses, create their own incomes, be in control of how much money they make, when and where they work, etc.
Teach them to see opportunities as ways to build businesses.
Teach them to 'see' money differently...not as a GREEN substance
to buy piddlyjunk but as a tool to reach their dreams!
If you're ready to empower YOUR children,
let The Ultimate Allowance show you how...
You may be thinking, Ya, right...another allowance program. If you're like most parents I've spoken to over the past 6 years of putting on Money Camps for Kids and Teens (now called Camp Millionaire), you've tried several different ways, maybe many, to get your kids to understand the value of money and what to do with it. From the stories I've heard, thought, most of those attempts have failed. At best, they have been partly effective in teaching kids how to be responsible with money, both theirs and yours.
ALLOWANCE STORIES FROM PARENTS...
A couple of years ago I asked my database for allowance stories. I put several of these stories in the book for you to see what others have tried.
Here's one success story sent to us:
Hi, I'm a mother of seven and I home school. Our oldest is
in her third year of college. In her last year of school,
I got an idea to help her learn to budget. We figured out
how much all of her needs were for each month - clothes, feminine
articles, hair, hygiene, even entertainment (hanging with
buddies). Once a price was set, that's what she had, when
it was gone there was no more until the next month.
We have 6 more at home. We have made it a practice never
to just give the kids money or just buy something spontaneously
just because they see it. So what I've done is created job
opportunities for them. I have a job board with various jobs
listed, requirements, and time limits as well as pay. If they
are interested, they have to be interviewed. For example:
The storage room was a mess - The job was called "Storage
room organizer" - some organizational skills required,
the job required at least 4 hours of work, paid $10.00 one
time. We even have a librarian now to keep the books in our
classroom in order. This job pays $5.00 a week. The board changes
periodically, but there's always a job for someone. Even the
4 year old.
This has helped tremendously, as they understand when
they are on a job, it has to be done properly or NO PAY!!
Each week the kids are checking the board, especially
if they've seen something that they'd like to buy.
It's a great way to teach them work ethic and financing.
Here's one not quite so successful:
We tried to dole out allowance and it was too difficult
to keep track of the process. My husband thinks that doing
chores is part of living and participating in family life.
The children should not receive a financial reward for daily
tasks.
We tried to tie the allowance to non-chore related things
like finishing homework without complaints, adding bird seed
to the feeders without being asked to do it, getting all the
morning, school related papers/lunches/sports gear in the
car without being nagged...those sorts of things. Then we
had to create a payment schedule that was balanced and appropriate
to the task. This was so difficult. Both kids (girl 11, boy
9) felt that their contributions were more important thus
due more money. Ugh.
There are a lot more stories in the book from parents who have had zero-to-great success teaching kids about money. Read what experts in the financial literacy, entrepreneurship and personal growth fields say about The Ultimate Allowance...

Imagine Your Kids Living Financially Free
Imagine how you will feel knowing
your adult children can take care of themselves and even be there to support you if you ever needed it? Don't laugh...there are millions of adults who are going to need it!
Creating a financially successful adult is something to be proud of! And it also takes a considerable amount of work and planning on your part.
So here's how it works...
Take the money you're already spending ON your kids: for clothes, shoes, movies, gifts for friends, hair cuts, etc. and...
Run it THROUGH them instead!
It takes between $175,000 and $280,000 to raise a child from 0-17. What if your child had just a portion of that to practice with? Wouldn't he or she get pretty good at it?
If kids don't get experience with money when they are young, they leave home without a clue, and guess what? They are more likely to end up in a financial mess that you may, or may not, be able to help them out of.
If you're confused about what to do, you may be reluctant to try yet
another idea. I CAN show you a way that works.
But you have
to willing to do your part. I'm not saying it's going to be easy.
There are the trials and tribulations
and lessons...but there's also the feel good part you get
when you know you did a great job raising your kids!
With The Ultimate Allowance...
You won't spend hours
arguing with your kids about money anymore.
You won't have to keep track of what they're doing with
their money. If they run out, they run out. Period. End of story!
You will get to practice unconditional support and learning
to be firm when they're learning a lesson they'd rather not
be learning.
You will have to learn how to use the system first but
I promise it will be worth it.
You just need to follow the system. It's
all laid out for you in the book! The hard work is done!
Isn't raising children into adults who are happy, healthy,
wealthy and wise worth the effort? Nothing in life comes without
a little effort and, from my experience, my best work has come from
my best effort. After all, wouldn't it be nice
if kids grew into adults who didn't have to recover from their childhoods?
I think so!
The Ultimate Allowance turns kids into wise money managing
machines! It
prepares kids to move out and stay out.
No arguing, no yelling, no victims.
Sure, you'll have some hiccups but that's part of parenting. Kids
are kids and they will do their best to throw you curve
balls. Simply follow the book and you'll be fine. And, if ever you need
answers, send me an email and I'll help you personally!
"Give a kid a fish and he'll eat for a day...
but teach
a kid to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime."
These are some of the lessons your kids will learn with the Ultimate
Allowance System...
She'll feel empowered when she learns to be responsible for paying for her own needs and wants. Preparing for when she's older can be very easy if she develops supportive financial habits.
He will have money to start thinking about investing. This is one of the major 'missing pieces' in many financial education programs. Children are taught about saving but not about investing in assets that will produce passive income for them.
She'll learn that saving to purchase an item she really wants isn't as difficult as it may seem at first if she uses a system, and that it feels great when she does reach her savings goals.
He will always have money for continued education.
She is less likely to develop the habit of feeling guilty for spending her own money; an emotion many adults have shared in our adult programs.
He will understand the joy and importance of giving back and helping others so that when she has a lot more money than she needs each month, she will want to do great things with it because she has experienced this from a young age.
Bottom line, if your kids are going to cost you money,
you might as well use that money to your advantage...give them the OPPORTUNITY to learn first hand how to make,
manage and multiply THEIR money wisely.
Let them learn the lessons before they move out...
...before it's so painful they can't recover from it
...before they mess
up so badly you don't have any choice but to let them move back
in so they can get back on their feet.
Imagine how your grown child would feel if they had to do that. Let's help them never
have to do that.
